Research Interests
I am interested in understanding how older adults, caregivers, and people living with dementia use and perceive AI technologies, particularly conversational large language models (LLMs) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) chatbots. My research focuses on informing the inclusive design and development of these systems, with a strong emphasis on participatory and PPI-driven approaches to improve accessibility, trust, and real-world applicability.
I am also interested in the neuropsychological underpinnings of chatbot use, particularly text processing and question formulation, examined through electroencephalography (EEG). This work considers the impacts of cognitive ageing and neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, with the aim of understanding how AI systems can better support information access and decision-making in later life.
